No Pottsey, the CN and DG passive resistance amps have been 40% for a long time, same as the TS/DB/AN/Ammatar Energized Membranes. I spent several months dealing in them, they wouldn't have gone for 20-30m at T2 stats, not with T2 so easy to get (and DG has the same fittings as T2, CN is 20 CPU though)
Not sure why they would do this, the faction shield gear is fairly well balanced. Deadspace and Officer I can see them changing but faction?
Someone on SISI check the stats of the other shield gear, they've been tweaking shield tanks recently (remember, they tweaked named T1 boosters recently as well). -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

Yes because faction shield amps were so useful and widely used in pvp.
Looks like a PvE passive shield tanking nerf to me, they're overpowered in PvE anyways so I got no problem with it.
That would be a reason to leave them be, if they're never used for anything but PVE as you say. Besides, the only difference is you'll see Drakes fitting T2 Shield Hardeners rather than faction passive ones, they certainly don't lack CPU for it, especially fitting Arbalest Heavies. If they do have CPU/cap problems, they'll fit DG or Gist actives.
Most of them fit the T2 active hardeners anyway, as they give better resists than max skilled passive mods, and even with a quadruple SPR II setup, they'll last 15 minutes before they cap you out, and a 3 SPR/1 PDU setup perma-runs them.
Seriously though, why should DG passives be relegated to cheap, low-skill T2? Too many faction items are just low-skill T2 (and often don't even have fitting benefits). -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

yeah having an overpowered, capless tank really sucks. its better to nerf weaker active armor tanks and leave the passive shield tanks as they are.
wtb: passive armor regenerator and 1600mm plates that need only 165pg
Umm... yeah... because nerfing a rarely used mod is going to make SO MUCH difference to those passive Drakes you hate so much. Most of them use I-Fields, not passive specifics, moreso after the nerf to explosive resists.
WTB: Lowslot scram and web for my 'uber' Drake. There's a reason I fly Gallente now...
Ever been killed by a passive Drake? Yeah, thought so. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

Then that wasn't a passive Drake. The crazy passive ones don't have cap or grid for neuts, they can barely keep their I-Fields running.

What does it do to your ships if it has 2.5% less resist? If it is faction, it might still be easier to fit. Like Shadow serpentis stuff for armor tanks ( they just use less cpu at same resist stats ).
And that's my point. It ISN'T easier to fit DG passive amps than T2. The CN ones are 10 CPU less, and they will be fine, nerfed or not. DG ones will effectively just be T2 though, and since you only need the skill to 4 to fit T2, DG passive amps will be pretty useless. I really don't like seeing another perfectly good piece of mild faction gear go on the heap with Domination Explosion Dampening Field and similar bits of niche (or in some cases entirely worthless) gear. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft.
